We follow USGA
rules & the BPSMGA
HANDICAP POLICY.
Local rules
have been established to make our tournaments more
enjoyable for all. These rules may be modified by
our tournament director based
on the format or course conditions on the day of the
event.
PLEASE KEEP UP WITH THE GROUP AHEAD OF YOU!
We encourage you to play "ready golf!" Shots played
from tee to green should be played as you become ready as
long as the shot does not interfere with another player.
The BPSMGA has instituted the following Slow Play Policy and Minimum Tournament Policy in an attempt to make our tournaments more enjoyable for all. If you have any questions concerning our rules we encourage you to contact any of our officers.
Read the
Instructions for the
"Closest to the Pin" Tournament Competition!
In order to address the issue of slow
play in our tournaments the BPSMGA may provide a
ranger at some of our tournaments. All members
are urged to play at a reasonable pace and keep up
with the group ahead. If your group is deemed to
be behind, all members should make every effort to
comply with the ranger's request to speed up play.
Handicap System
The handicap system is managed by an outside group, GHIN. The fee for
this service is included in your annual membership fee.
As of January 1, 2020 the USGA
Handicap System was replaced by the World Handicap
System. To read about the significant changes
resulting from this change

In order to post scores in the GHIN system you will need your
member number and an email account. If you do not have
a member number, call or stop by the pro shop at Bryan Park
(336-375-2200) to get your numbers. It may take a few
days to enter your name into the system and get numbers
assigned. New
members should enter scores into the handicap system as
soon as possible to establish a valid handicap.
Scores may be entered on the computer at the pro shop or
from your home computer using your 7 digit number. A
member or one of the pro shop staff will be glad to show you
how to use the local computer to post your scores.
To enter scores from your home computer log on to the GHIN Website.
Click on "Post Scores". Enter your 7 digit number and
your last name in the space provided. Click
"Continue". Make your selections in the drop down
boxes. Make sure your selections are correct and click

Rules
Of Play
Tournament specific rules will be explained before play on the day of the tournament.
The following rules apply to all tournament play:
·Except as noted below or in any local club rules, USGA rules
govern all play.
·If your ball is determined lost or out of bounds, you may
drop a ball no nearer the hole within two club lengths or
where the ball went out of bounds or was presumed lost, add
one penalty stroke (lying 2, hitting 3). You may choose to
hit a provisional ball. If so, hit a ball from the same spot
from where the original ball was struck, add one penalty
stroke. For example: if you drive poorly off the tee and
wish to hit a provisional ball rather than use the two club
length rule above, you are lying two, hitting three.
·Putt out all putts during the monthly tournaments. In a
match play event a putt may be conceded by your opponent.
·Mulligans are not allowed during tournament play except
when offered for sale in certain tournaments.
